RME & Syslog Server & OEM products

Hello,

I know the RME have a Syslog Server & Syslog Analyzer. I want to know if it is possible to collect messages coming from other products no Cisco, for example Enterasys Switches ? knowing that the Syslog Analyzer can't analyze the Enterasys Switches messages, I can see the messages entries in the syslog file ? Is it possible ?

If the device is Unmanaged (not in the inventory with correct type), I believe the messages will show up in the Unexpected Device Report. Also, the Syslog message format should be the same as that of a cisco device which I believe would be the same. Try it out to see if it helps.

Another question, why ?

The RME Collector filter the messages before storing in the syslog.log file ?

Please, answer the reason.
