Here's a link to the Cisco 3745 router Data Sheet:
Cisco 3700 Series Multiservice Access Routers

The only thing it mentions about performance is a maximum throughput of 225K packets per second. When you take into account that the maximum throughput on a Fast Ethernet switch port is 148,880 frames per second (with minimum-size 64-byte Ethernet frames), then the routing performance across the two built-in 10/100 Ethernet interfaces isn't quite wire-speed. But it's more than fast enough for routing from Fast Ethernet to any serial connection.
Performance parameters that manufacturers publish are optimized to show their products in the best possible light. So it's fair to compare raw performance specifications between their products.
Performance is certainly important; however, often times it is features and flexibility that favor one manufacturer's products over another's. And it's hard to beat Cisco on features and flexibility.
Hope this helps.
