STP question

After i configure STP on my 3750, i did a show spanning-tree int giga 1/0/5 on the trunking interface. It shows no spanning tree instance exists. Does that mean the STP is no configure properly?

Note: The cables of this interface is not connected another switch yet. Is this the reason why?

The interface needs to be up/up for STP to run on the interface. Try issuing this command after you connect it to another switch.
