Switch Catalyst 4506

Hello,

I have one Catalyst 4506 with Supervisor 4.

My Catalyst 4506 is the default gateway for all my PC (Supervisor 4 L3 using OSPF routing protocol).

I want to implement HSRP to have redundant gateway. For this action i will buy a second CATALYST 4506 installed with a Supervisor 4 module.

1) Is this configuration OK ?

2) HSRP with OSPF is it OK ?

3) How can i know the delay for the convergence if one catalyst 4506 is not responding.

It depends how your access layer is connected to the cat4506 switches.

HSRP it's ok with OSPF and the delay is configured with preempt delay and hello timers in HSRP configuration.
