Trunk between a cisco and a foundry switch

I have a foundry BigIron layer 3 switch and a cisco Catalyst 3500XL. and I defined a trunk dotq1 on the cisco switch and a trunk port on foundry switch, But it is not working. I cannot ping from the cisco switch to any of the vlans

I think I remember hearing something about Foundry switches using the equivalent of 'dot1q-all-tagged' on their 802.1q trunk links. If that's true, they may not play nice if the 3500XL doesn't supprt that (which I don't think it does.)

If not, make sure you have the 'native' (803.2) VLAN set the same on both sides and that your VLAN interface on the XL switch matches the config the rest of the layer-3 network.

Thanks a lot jeo for your help, I did the following, I disabled the management vlan 1 on the cisco switch and create another vlan (100) and make it the management, and I create a vlan on the foundry switch (100 ) and and i defined the trunk to dot1q and it works very fine
