VLAN Problem with Microsoft DFS

I have moved a number of workstations to new VLAN and I having an issue with roaming profiles and DFS links. We have been a company with all endusers and servers in a single VLAN and are starting to partition enduser groups. I have ip helper address configured and DHCP, DNS, etc. work just fine.

Does the server were the profiles reside have to be in the same VLAN as the workstation?

Is the new subnet part of the active directory site?

Thanks for the suggestion! That was the missing piece. Added the subnet to our site and our problem was resolved.
