x25 nvc command

I only basicly know the "x25 nvc" command mean that

when an outgoing connection is asked to maked then

there can be two or more channels to be built.

what does it exactly mean ?

what does it exactly do ?

Is it very useful with x25?

As I understand it, increasing the number of virtual circuits a protocol can have open to one host, you increase overall throughput.
