I have my logs sent to a linux server running syslog. Then I use a script that runs as a cron job that e-mails me the logs.

Try Syslog-ng. You can do much more with it.
http://www.balabit.com/products/syslog_ng/
You can instruct this deamon to activate external progams and scripts.
It is very handy

but it seems that syslog-ng is just for unix, can it be for windows?

SL4NT is a very nice syslogserver for Windows.

Try it for 60 days first.

I've been installing kiwi at various places. There is a free version and for a few $$ a very functional/highly configurable version. See http://www.kiwisyslog.com/index.htm
