In a local network that using 2960 switches, Is it possible to capture specific packets? For example, find which user used remote desktop or which user browse other users computer share folders.

You can span Port and capture the information you looking for analytics.

How can I understand my packets captured or not? Or how can I understand the switch that I connected to it has any span port? In a local network with VLAN when I use "tracert" command then it show me the nodes that I crossed them, but in the network, other switches are exist and how can I sure my packets not crossed of other switches?
