Is there anybody using CCS as a standalone application with MC for the 6500 IDS blade? We are trying to implement this, and although it seems to work a lot better than CSPM (that's an understatement!), we have found the installation of the software and the signatures requires a very exact process to ensure all works ok!

Does anybody have some areas to look out for, and some do's and don'ts when using CCS?

Any help/advice received would be most welcome, and would help prevent dramatic hair loss!

Be sure to pick the correct signature file from Cisco's web site. The IDSM always lags behind the stand alone unit.

You may need to go back a couple of releases to match up with the level available for the CCS.

I had to open a TAC case to confirm the signature files needed.

Thanks for your reply. We have managed to get it all working, using the relevant files as necessary. It was just rather a trial to get there!
