Hi,
I'm trying to allow multicast traffic on my Cisco ASA5520 and followed the sample configuration from this link:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a00807631d2.shtml
Unfortunately, I'm getting this error from the logs:
Jul 09 2009 13:55:10: %ASA-3-106010: Deny inbound protocol 2 src outside:<RP IP address> dst identity:224.0.0.2
Would you know why this is happening?
Thanks,
Pat

Protocol number 2 is IGMP, make sure you have enabled IGMP and Multicast Routing.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your reply. Multicast routing is enabled on the FW via this command 'multicast-routing'. Is there a separate command to enable IGMP?
Thanks,
Pat

Also, just to clarify, I'm trying to enable a PIM sparse mode with a single RP.
Thanks!

OK - the original post included a deny on the firewall, 1 - it was the IGMP protocol, 2 - the desintation address was multicast all routers. What application are you trying to multicast thru the firewall?
