Cris - that's the first thing I tried - no go. I suspect I need some sort of cross-over to make this work. I'll try a couple of "Terminal" adapters with/without a rolled cable between the two. Remember that the 2509 has a special octal octopus cable as it is called with 8 RJ45s. Works great for standard RJ45 console ports, but not with the DB9 console port on the VPN3005.
