Are you worried about the security of hosts, your network devices, or both?

Both Network Devices and hosts

If you want to know what services are allowed through your firewall or what ports are listening on the hosts/devices on your network, there are a lot of tools for doing just that. Probably the most widely used tool for such a task is nmap. You can get it at www.insecure.org.
If you want to get a look at what security vulnerabilities *may* exist in your network, you can use another widely used tool called nessus. The nessus vulnerability scanner can be found at www.nessus.org.
Both tools are free, open source tools that run on both windows and unix systems. There are many other tools out there for discovering exposed risks in your network but I would recommend starting with these.
Hope this helps...
