Who can't connect, the pix or an inside user? Does it timeout? Can you ping the server? Have you allowed port 69? Take a look at your logs to see if it's getting blocked.

Stev

I think, and i hope too, you can't connect to a tftp server outside of the PIX to configure the PIX. It's a security measure. Is it to configure the PIX or other device ?

Ben

If you don't specify an interface with the tftp-server command, an internal interface is assumed. If you specify the outside interface, a warning message informs you that the outside interface is unsecure.

Can you check to see if it's getting blocked in your logs? Can they ping each other?

Steve

well I'm runing pix version 4.4 (PIX 520 DC firewall) and it doesn't support this option
