IDS 4.1-s91 upgrade failure

Hi

I am using IDS Version 4.1(4)S91 in my IDS 4215 device now I am unable to upgrade the signature IDS-sig-4.1-4-S123.While updating it's showing the following error

Error: idsPackageMgr: invalid argumenterror: Error when attempting to install /

usr/cids/idsRoot/var/updates/IDS-sig-4.1-4-S123.rpm.

Hello chris,

how are you upgrading the signature ? using ftp ? If not, use the following commands on the IDS:

upgrade ftp://chris@10.1.1.1//IDS-sig-4.1-4-S123.rpm.pkg

where chris is the username configured on the ftp server and 10.1.1.1 is the ftp server.

The placement of the rpm file is important here. Place the file on the appropriate root directory on the server. otherwise it will throw an error like the one showed by you.

Just to be sure, manually do a ftp from the machine that you are telnetting from, and see if you have file and if you are able to get the file. there might be some user permissions problem too...
