What are the key differences performance wise in the 6509 IDS module and the IDS 4235.
Thanks

The IDS Module for the Cat 6K has a performance of around 100-120Mbps.
The IDS-4235 has a performance of around 200Mbps.
(NOTE: Requires a Gig RJ-45 connection to the switch to get performance over 100Mbps)
So on a performance/price comparison the IDS-4235 performs better at a lower price.
You may also want to consider the ID2-4250 with performance around 500Mbps. The IDS-4250-TX uses a Gig RJ-45 connection. The IDS-4250-SX uses a Gig Fiber connection.

Having used the 4235,4250 and IDSM, I prefer the 4200 series appliances over the IDSM. The 4200 series receives more frequent updates in signature files when compared to the IDSM and has many more features.
