IDSMS fails to update NSDB

I cannot get the IDSMC to update the management station

I am using VMS 2.2 and SecMon 1.2.3

I select Configuration >Updates >Update Network IDS Signatures

Each time I receive the message

“Apply the IDS-sig-3.1-5-S66.zip update to the Management Centre.”

I click on finish and then check by accessing NSDB to see if it has added the new signature descriptions.

Am I doing something incorrect or is the server confused about which version of NSDB it has?

Sorry for replying to my own post but I have been doing a bit of investigation: could my problem be related to the following bug id

CSCsa02605-Not detecting errors during update- how do you fix the problem?
