I have a pix501 and it's working fine. I am using access-list and static to open and forward ports 80, 443, 110, & 25 to servers. They are working fine. recently i allowed ports 143 and 993 to the firewall from outside.
Here is my configuration
access-list allowed_port tcp any host 11.22.33.44 eq imap4
static (inside,outside) tcp 11.22.33.44 imap4 192.168.2.2 imap4 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0
access-group allowed_port in interface outside
I tested all other ports and they are ok except port 143. I used portping to ping 143 from the outside and it didn't work. I used portping to ping 143 from the inside of the network and it worked fine. so, i know the problem is the firewall. Anyone know why imap4 does not work on the pix501? Could it be my ISP is blocking port 143 on the external IP?
