Hi,
We have PIX 520 in our organisation. When ever I do traceroute to any IP address, I wanted to see my firewall interface as one of the hop. Currently I am not getting my firewall interface's IP address in any traceroute hops. Is there any way to configure firewall so that I get this feature. It is purely for testing purpose.
Thanks in advance.
Murthy.

Hi,
First of all this is a security risk and thats probably one reason why the PIX will not respond as a hop. Second of all, traceroute hops are router hops, the PIX is not a router, it is a firewall.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. I strongly agree that it is a security issue. What my understanding is trceroute hops are default gateway hops. I hope you agree for that.
Thank you.
Murthy.
