Rouing HTTP requests to cable modem

Two 2501 routers connected running IOS 11.2

router a - 192.168.0.x/24 - default gateway set to cable modem

router b - 10.168.x.x/16 - default gateway set to router a

Clients on b have DG set to router b

Clients on a have DG set to router a

Clients off routerA could not get to the internet until I added the line "ip host-routing"

However, clients off of routerB still cannot get to the internet. I tried the same command with no luck? Is htere something special about passing http across two routers like this in a small SOHO network.

Sorry if this is vague. based on my two previos posts, I am obviosly a beginner. Thanks for the patience.

You need a default route, not a default gateway, on the routers. The command is

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0

Default gateway only affects the client services on the router itself - e.g. telnet client, not routing traffic.

My friend,

the networks u r using are private networks. which are not used in the internet. no router in theinternet will have these routes in their routing table. so u have to use some form of NAT network address translation to over come this problem.
