I have a moderately sized network consisting of 3550 and 2950 series switches. I want to set up a RSPAN session on the switches that will redirect specific VLANS to the RSPAN Vlan.
Well reading through documentation I found that on my 2950 I can set up RSPAN to monitor specific ports. On my 3550 I can set up RSPAN to monitor specific ports or Specific VLANs.
How do i get VLAN monitoring capability, like my 3550 can do, on my 2950.
Is there a new code rev that will do it?
Is it a limitation of the switch hardware?
Is there any other configuration method that will allow me to monitor specific Vlans rather than specific ports?
