I have a PIX firewall (details below) that I am trying to upgrade for 3DES support. When I try to obtain the free upgrade key, I receive a failover only key (PIX TYPE: PIX-515-FO). Am I being stupid, as I only have one firewall and I have not been using failover?
Many thanks
Mark

no, a FO pix will reboot every 60 minutes if used alone. All your sh ver details do indicate a UR license. Try calling cisco

I have the same problem.I also got a VPN-DES key from the web page I installed it and I downgraded my PIX -UR to FO only and it became unreachable I also had a strange serial number back from cisco the serial number had an extra 44 in front of the original serial number that I typed in. Luckily I had my old key so I copied that back. What did Cisco say ???
