887VA as a PPPoE server

Hi,

Is it possible at all to use 887VA FastEthernet interfaces as PPPoE Server?

I enter the following commands:

int Fa1

pppoe enable group global

exit

sh run int Fa1

interface FastEthernet1

no ip address

no cdp enable

Looks as if the command is not taken?

seems to do something similar successfully.

All of this is independent of the additional PPPoE settings and I can't get the router to respond to PPPoE discovery packets.  Which would be expected if it wasn't enabled...

I have tried this on 15.1(4)M3 and 15.1(2)T3 with the same result.

I might point out I have the same problem if I create a logical VLAN interface (e.g. Vlan100) and attempt the same 'pppoe enable' command
