Problem with GigabitEthernet WS-X6148A-GE-TX module on 7604

Hello Colleagues,

We were experiencing problem with WS-X6148A-GE-TX module on 7604. During attept to replace problem module, the new one from spare parts was not up in the same slot. Have a look to log message:

*Apr 20 01:40:41.100 MSK: %ONLINE-SP-6-TIMER: Module 3, Proc. 0. Failed to bring online because of timer event

*Apr 20 01:40:41.100 MSK: %C6KPWR-SP-4-DISABLED: power to module in slot 3 set off (Module  Failed SCP dnld)

This module was inserted to other chassis on this router and it became online and works fine now:

*Apr 20 03:12:46.533 MSK: %DIAG-SP-6-DIAG_OK: Module 4: Passed Online Diagnostics

*Apr 20 03:12:47.473 MSK: %OIR-SP-6-INSCARD: Card inserted in slot 4, interfaces are now online

Now it looks like we have problem with slot 3, not with specified module.

Does any one face on with problem with slot? Is it possible somehow to diagnose slot falty to be sure that slot is really falty? Any other advice?

Thanks a lot,

BR, Artem

SCP is a management communications protocol between the line card and the chassis.

If you say that you've moved this line card to a different slot and it works, then move it back to slot 4.  If you are still getting the same error message, then you need to organize the RMA of your chassis.
