Secure ACS 5.8 register to primary fails

Please me me start with I'm new to Secure ACS 5.8. I have just built a new VM and loaded ACS 5.8.0.32.1 - I want to register to primary, but when I select System Administration -> Operations -> local operations -> Deployment Operations and try to register to primary I get an error popup with

I tried to do the "crypto host_key add host myhost" from CLI but didn't seem to change anything, still get same error

I found the solution, kind of. IN GUI go to

System Administration >  Configuration >  Global System Options >  Trust Communication Settings

There you will find a check box for "Enable Nodes Trust Communication"

Uncheck this and the box will not check certificate.

However, turns out when I do this I get error that 5.8 can't register with a 5.5 master :(

Off to rebuild my VM as a 5.5 ACS server and use that till I upgrade my master to 5.8.
