Hi,
I try to make bonding with ubr10K (mc20x20) and edge qam
(node1) (6/1/4) 8DS from edge qam or
(node 2) 4 DS from mc20x20 and 4 DS from EdgeQam
My config (for 8DS from edge Qam)
Do you see something wrong in my config ?
Thanks

Hi Pascal,
The only observation I have is that you only configured one Modular-Cable interface (1/0/0:0) but you included the 8 channels from the SPA in the MD as primary channels. You should configure the other 7 modular-cable interfaces if you expect to use those as primary channels.
Regarding bonding group, it looks fine. I see the 8 channels added in the wideband-cable interface and correct fiber-node configuration. You may want to double check using "show cable mac-domain cable 6/1/4 rcc". IF RCCs are populated, you should normally be OK to do wideband.
Regards.

Hi Manuel
Thanks for the answer.
can I do
4 DS from mc20x20 ( Primary DS)
and 4 DS from EdgeQam
cable modem do not wideband with modular cable.
note. I do not use a DTI server, the traffic from SPA is just non-primary (just for wideband).

Hi Pascal,
If the channels from SPA are not used as primary, there is no need to add them under the cable interface (" downstream Modular-Cable 1/0/0 rf-channel 0-3 upstream 0-3") and no need to configure the modular-cable interfaces. Those configurations are only for primary channel functionality.
With this configuration however, you will not be able to do 8 channel DS bonding. You only have 4-channel bonding groups (RCCs). To do 8-channel DS bonding, you need an 8-channel bonding group (meaning, you need an 8-channel wideband interface). I'm afraid you cannot add channels from SPA to wideband interface hosted by 20x20 LC (or any LC) nor vice-versa. This is not supported. You will need to add channels from the same LC or SPA to the corresponding wideband interface. You may use channels from different controllers, but always from the same card.
Regards.

Manuel,
ok I understand so I can't do 4DS from mc20x20 and 4DS from Edge Qam (total 8x4)
What I can do is
8 DS from 20x20
or
8 DS from EQ
The issue is
I want to save mac domain on my mc20x20 when I do 8 DS from 20x20 I need two mac domain to do this ex: (6/1/3 and 6/1/4).
interface Cable6/1/4, remain unconfigured, I config only: controller Integrated-Cable 6/1/4
and add it to the fiber node and the windeband int.
cable fiber-node 19
downstream Integrated-Cable 6/1/3 rf-channel 0-3
downstream Integrated-Cable 6/1/4 rf-channel 0-3
upstream Cable 6/1/3 connector 12-15
interface Wideband-Cable6/1/3:0
description wideband 8ds
cable bundle 1
cable rf-channel 0 bandwidth-percent 46 remaining ratio 100
cable rf-channel 1 bandwidth-percent 46 remaining ratio 100
cable rf-channel 2 bandwidth-percent 46 remaining ratio 100
cable rf-channel 3 bandwidth-percent 46 remaining ratio 100
cable rf-channel controller 4 channel 0 bandwidth-percent 1 remaining ratio 100
cable rf-channel controller 4 channel 1 bandwidth-percent 1 remaining ratio 100
cable rf-channel controller 4 channel 2 bandwidth-percent 1 remaining ratio 100
cable rf-channel controller 4 channel 3 bandwidth-percent 1 remaining ratio 100
this way I have a 8x4 on the mc20x20.
-----------------------------
So I correct my config to do 8DS from EdgeQam and the cable modem still want to come online.

Hi,
So, are you trying to bring modems online in 6/1/4? As I said before, the command " downstream Modular-Cable 1/0/0 rf-channel 0-7 upstream 0-3" and the configuration for interfaces "Modular-Cable1/0/0:X" is to configure primary channel capability on those channels. If you are not using a DTI, I guess you will not be able to use the modular channels as primary. In your configuration the only channels configured as primary for 6/1/4 are the modular ones.
Given the above, which channels are you planning to use as primary for 6/1/4 mac domain?
From a bonding group perspective, the configuration is OK. But is not clear about the primary channels to use. Also, if the primary channels is not part of the bonding group (in case you use primaries from 20x20), you need to consider that the modem must be able to lock on 1 + 8 channels since the modem needs to lock on the primary + all channels in the bonding group. If the modem is not able to bond on more than 8 channels, this may not work.
Regards.
