Hi swamy,
I have taken below output from cisco tool: output interpreter, may be useful to you
"
Interface Serial1/0:1 (reset/down)
WARNING: This interface has the status as reset.
This is a hardware-related issue, such as, a defective smart jack, demarcation
cable or controller, or a physical connection failure. This problem can occur
if packets queued for transmissions are not sent for several seconds. Also, this
issue may be caused when a modem does not supply the transmit clock signal, or
when there is a cable problem. Whenever the Carrier Detect signal of the serial
interface is up, and the line protocol is down, the IOS device periodically resets
the interface in an effort to restart it. Interfaces can also be reset when they
are looped or shut down.
