We are pleased to announce the forthcoming release of offline multi-factor authentication for Windows!
The feature, which has been in public beta since July, is planned for an October release for Duo MFA, Duo Access, and Duo Beyond. You can learn about offline login for Windows in this blog by Duo Senior Product Marketing Manager Bob Bentley.
A follow-up blog post that explains how our offline login works will be published soon!

Will this offline feature work with the Linux local/SSH login? If not, will it be soon available?

When will this be available for use? We’re currently waiting to roll out Duo to a few clients but we can’t until Offline authentication is available.

Right there with you. In the middle of a DUO deployment and would love to roll out this offline client rather than the current client.

Hi friends, our Windows Offline functionality will be fully released on November 9, 2018. Mark your calendars!

Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know that the full release of Windows Offline Access has been pushed back to November 19. Sorry for the delay.

Are there issues with Offline Authentication? You state that release has been pushed back until Nov 19th but the product was already released on Oct 31st. It now appears that the offline documentation has been removed from the DUO site and the installer link has been reverted back to 3.1.2 instead of the 4.0.0 installer that i downloaded on Oct 31st. Should I hold off on rolling this out?

We decided to delay the full release until November 19 due to a bug that we discovered late during release testing. This gave our engineering team adequate time to address and test the functionality, so we can deliver the most reliable and polished product we can to customers.
If you have the 4.0.0 installer or it’s already deployed on workstations, you should be fine. However, we recommend that you upgrade to the new version when it is released on November 19.
