users and password

I have just deployed 3 rv340 routers into small businesses i look after. updated firmware before deployment. i'm trying to configure IPSec and pptp VPN's for their remote workers to connect to. i'm a little bit stalled on this task, its been a few years since i need to do this on a cisco router. I can configure the client desktop and laptops, i'm having trouble setting up the IPSec and pptp servers for individual users. Is there a decent flow chart or task based guide for this. i've spent the morning searching youtube, the internet searches and here and coming up with nothing that is turning the light on here. where i'm stuck is when you define a user name and password on the client, for example i understand setting the server up, and the group name but don't see where i put the user names and password into the group. and under the teleworker tab, if they are connecting to the work site, what is the "remote ip" its looking for? the remote users? these would change with a mobile workforce

i hope i'm making sense

thanks

rr

if i understand correctly you look to setup RV Router as VPN Server for the remote workers to VPN to RV device to use local resources, if this is correct.

here is the good guide to start with :

thanks for your reply i have read through both links i have no problem setting up the windows (or mac) clients and i have set up van's on probably 20 RV products i either forget or am missing something i don't see on the router where i input the user name and password of the remote teleworkers on the actual router the links you sent, show where in the windows client i do but not the corresponding entry on the rv340 and i am running the latest f/w on the rv340, which looks way different than those screen shots hopefully i am making sense thanks rr
