Archive videos export

Greetings,

Anyone know a procedure to export the videos stored on the archive?
I need to replace a VSMC, but I'd like to save the videos it contains.

Thank you

Hi Leonardo,

You can download the Archives using the  "Archive Clip Form" on VSOM. It allows you select the  format,  location where to save the clips and the duration.

And can you provide a little more detail on what you are planning to do with the VSM?

Aditya Raghavan

Hi Leonardo,

You have 3 options for preserving the archive data.

Create clips as was mentioned before, either server-side or client-side.

Remove the drives from your old media server and replace them in the new chassis.  (There are other steps here.)

The best method is to stop the archives (shelve them) and leave your old server in the network until the archives time out and are no longer of value, moving the camera feeds and creating new archives on the new server.

There is not a supported method of migrating archives from one media server to another, as VSOM contains pointers to the original archive location.

I hope that helps,
