Cisco cameras crash when adjusted from web interface while viewed in VSOM - bug?

We have been trying to install several 7030E (running firmware 2.7.0-20) cameras on a site, and have been trying to adjust them via the web interface (specifically, we need to flip, mirror, zoom and focus them), while viewing them in VSOM on the same PC, as the ActiveX doesn't seem to allow us to view video directly from the camera, after we adjust the cameras we find that they tend to reboot, and in order to get them to stream to VSOM again we have to do a Replace Configurations. We have had the same issue last week while deploying some 3630 (running firmware 2.7.1) cameras. This seems to happen both on 7.7 and 7.5.1. Thinking that it may have had something to do with the customers' sites, or the fact that we were connected via VPN, this afternoon I tried the same with a 7030 running 2.7.2-2 on our office VSM system, which runs 7.7. The image was already flipped and mirrored, I un-ticked flip and mirror, waited for a bit, and re-ticked them, then zoomed the camera out a bit. Same issue.

Given that this seems to happen at multiple sites we suspect that there may be some kind of bug that is causing this to happen. Just wondering if anyone on here has experienced something similar?

Just curious;

"have been trying to adjust them via the web interface (specifically, we need to flip, mirror, zoom and focus them), while viewing them in VSOM on the same PC, as the ActiveX doesn't seem to allow us to view video directly from the camera"

... have you *ever* been able to get video from the camera directly from its web interface?

Hi Scott, With older firmware releases we were able to view video via the ActiveX without issues, however I've discovered that with 2.7.2-2 and 2.8.0 I can only view video via the web interface if I use QuickTime rather than ActiveX.

Thanks for the feedback.  Just a blank black pane if you attempt to stream via ActiveX?

Correct. Like I said I was able to view via ActiveX on older firmware versions, but 2.7.2-2 onwards just gives me a black screen, which means that we need to change settings on the cameras or zoom/focus them, we need to have the camera up in VSOM in one window, and the web interface in another window, which seems to be causing the issue we're having. Very annoying.
