Cisco switch 3560 => Password recovery with Mode Button doesn't work

Hi Experts!

I have some confusion with holding Mode button with cisco3560SX switch.

I want to recover password and according to the Cisco documents in this model I should:

"Release the Mode button after approximately 15 seconds when the SYST LED turns solid green. When you release the Mode button, the SYST LED blinks green."

The problem is that SYST LED never turns solid green but from the beginning it start blinking.

Releasing MODE button at this moment doesn't change anything.

PS.Maybe I should send "Brake" signal additionaly from my Putty console?

How long did you try holding in the mode button for?  I suspect you need to hold it in for longer.

Scott - it's the same doc I quoted.

Philip - I have holded mode button even few minutes but it didn't work like in Cisco doc and you don't have solid green any moment.

But I've found solution, which is another than in docs: not during switch start but when it's working, press and hold Mode button. After a few second its automatically makes reload and dump configuration files to another names and starts without the configuration.

Thanks for suggestion.

Drats!  This was a double post and I apparently replied to the one that has since disappeared.  Basically, I think I provided the following two resources;

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/switches/catalyst-2950-series-switches/12040-pswdrec-2900xl.html

Try pinning up a serial console session while doing the mode button recovery to get a better idea of what could be happening.
