Cpam Hardware config error

I have created a new gateway for a site I am working on.

The issue I am having is when I try to apply gateway configurations I am getting a Device Command Fail:null    error message .. Any ideas what this can be and a fix for it?

what is the version on your gateway. there is a know issue in 1.3.0v, which does not allow configuration changes made on gateway.
