Hi,
Actually our customer need to integrate IP surveillance system with Fire system.
In the user guide of the VSM 6.3, i found that there is a Device Trigger which means that the event will be triggered based on an external device.
But i am confused about the information that i should enter in the Event configuration as following:
-Encoder or IP camera
-Channel
-Default state (rising or falling)
Does any go through that before?
In case of integrating with External Device for triggering, why should i select an Encoder or IP Camera???
what is the meaning of Channel? and rising or falling power??
what is the type of the trigger that will be sent from the Fire System??
waiting your replies
Thx

I have had several devices connected to the GPIOs on some of the 2500 series Cisco cameras. I can't recall from the datasheets, but I believe them to be either 5 volt or 12 volt relay connections. Gut is saying 5 volts at the moment.
They can either source (supply) or sink (ground) small amounts of current (amperage) from external systems (door contacts, toggle switches, other control systems etc...).
It really depends on what is available from the "fire system".

Hi,
You need to select an encoder or IP camera as that is where the relay trigger connects to. In your case the output from the fire alarm system would need to connect to an operational IP camera or encoder.
Another method you could look at is HTML triggers, or soft triggers. If your alarm system can output these it might be easier then physical connections.
