IP Camera Setup

My goal is to setup an IP camera that can be broken into two different feeds. One being a direct feed and the other a child feed. I have setup the IP camera and gotten it to connect but the "stream_type" listed in camera feeds is called "dual 1". I would like to get the stream_type for this camera to be direct. How can I achieve that?

It basically goes like this:

(IP Cam) >---- direct proxy ----> (VSMS) >------ child proxy -----> (Alternate or Remote VSMS)

... is this what you are implying by a child proxy?  What are you trying to do with it?

What I am trying to get done with the camera is have 2 feeds come out of it. The other cameras on the system are creating one feed with a chld stream type and another feed with a direct stream type. The camera that I added in has a "dual1" stream type. I am trying to get it to match the othr cameras. Does the proxy require server configuration?

Thank you for your help!

um, dual 1 refers to a cam with "dual" streams/feeds

and the "1" means you're using the 1st stream/feed

of the two dual streams, is this any help?

The Dual 1 points to one of two available feeds and the primary Feed.

The Dual 2 or secondary feed will listed as such.

This is for Cisco Cameras.

A Direct Feed designation may be from a camera that has only one stream to give from the camera itself.

As someone pointed out, there is a way to get a server to provide you a child feed off of the main camera feed.

The server acts as the encoder per se.

You can get different FPS from the child feed if the main feed is a MJPEG, other wise it will have the same specs as the main feed.
