In working with TAC, they are requesting that I do a recovery (aka reinstall) of the software on the server. They sent me a link that talks about using a Unigen or Kingston USB drive. Unigen appears to be a low end drive from what I have found. I bought two different size Kingston's but cant use either one. From what the Cisco doc mentions, the USB drive must mount as a basic drive instead of a removeable drive. I cant keep making runs to the local PC parts place and trying all of there drives as this is coming out of my pocket since my employer wont fund parts purchases like this.
Since my media server has a CD/DVD drive installed, isnt there a way that I can do a recovery with a CD/DVD ?
Suggestions ?

What version is it you are trying to repair/reinstall.... also, what part number is the chassis? CPS-MSP, CIVS-MSP?

I started with 7.0 of CPS-MSP. Upgraded to 7.0.1 at the request of TAC. When I try to add the Media Server (that is running onto the same box), I get an error that says it is managed by another server. Problem is - there is no other server. TAC feels the database is corrupted and wants me to reinstall.
I have the 1U chassis. I have looked at the box and dont see a part #. I can see CPS-MSP-1RU-K9. Another sticker has 800-33847-05 A0 on it. I looked at the box and it doesnt have any info in the part # field.
