Hello,
We have added our first PTZ to our deployment. We can connect to the camera via a web browser, but we are getting endpoint error in VSOM. We treated it like any other IP camera, selected the driver from the dropdown, and made it a PTZ. Anything we might be missing?
Thanx.
Rossi.

Well, after verifying basic IP connectivity between the VSMS server and the Camera, the next thing I would verify is whether or not any required authentication credentials are configured correctly.
After that, I would probably review the ims.log for additional hints.
Cheers!

Hi Jason,
Scott's advice is right on. Endpoint Error typically means that the media server cannot connect to the camera. For example, if you entered the hostname of the camera into the configuration instead of an IP address, perhaps the server is not able to resolve the hostname to IP address via DNS. For instances like this, I like to get a tcpdump from the server and capture it to a binary file that can be opened in Wireshark. The command would look something like this:
tcpdump -s 0 host
Then you can copy the endpoint-error.cap file off of the server and view it in Wireshark.
Hope that helps,
Sean
