VSM Deploy On UCS 3160 Per Cisco Install Document

I'm going to reconfigure VSM on our UCS 3160 per Cisco's install document. http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/physical_security/video_surveillance/network/vsm/vm/UCS_C3160/VSM_UCSC3160_deploy.html

I'm going to configure the VM's per the document for Media Server Only mode with the exception of the last set of Media disk array using only half of of the disks.  I'm going to run one VM for Operations Manager using these disks on another array.   If I understand the document there is no need run the partition script to create the repositories for the VM's configured as Media Servers as these are manually created by following the document (Step 7)  Is this correct?

Finally is it necessary to run the partition script when setting up a VM configured only for Operations Manger Mode?.... as their will be no need for repositories on this VM.

Thanks

Hi Matt,

Yes, you are correct. You don't need to run the storage script in order to create any media partitions on servers now. As this only needed when you have media server service added to that VSOM server.

Also, we can add the media partitions manually also to the server in future whenever you need.

Right now you can go ahead without the storage script step. Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks,

Jayesh
