Dear All ,
I have a UCS C240 that will be used for VSM 7.2 , that contains 12 x 3TiB and I started in instailling the OVA and after I finished I see the Maximum size is 2 TiB for the VSMS while I have 29.8 TiB .
I used the below Document :
and I tried to have more than 2 TiB storage but it was not successfully .
and opened a TAC case and the final solution is to make multiple Virtual disks of 2 TiB so I will have 15 Virtual disks which I see not logic .
So can anyone guide me for the best solution for my issue , how to make the VSMS with 2 Virtual disks each one 15 TiB on UCS C 240 ?
Thanks ,
Ahmed Ellboudy .

Hi Ahmed
The 2TB limit is due to a VMware 5.0 limitation. If you are deploying a VSM 7.2 ova, then you should be following the below guide as it uses Redhat for the OS as apposed to Suse for VSM 6.3:
Cheers,
Edward

Hi Ahmed,
As Pointed by Edward, it is a vmware issue for limiting the dtatstore to 2 TB.
If you wishto use storage of more than 2 TB, you can use RDM (Raw Device Mapping) disks , (used to create a disk from Fiber Channel-based SAN storage). and again the limit here is upto 16 TB.
