VSOM locally saved files are not showing up with VSOM 7.5 and WIn7 64bit

So I've been running into the issue lately in which files that are saved locally from VSOM 7.5 are not showing up for me locally but can be seen during the save dialog from VSOM.

Scenario:

Trying to save a screenshot or video file locally on my desktop.

I give the file a name or use the default one and save it locally in the Surveillance Test Folder.

When going into the folder; its empty as shown in the empty screenshot.

Trying to resave the shot again its showing up as shown in the filled screenshot.

Saving to a USB thumbdrive doesn't have this issue and windows explorer is showing the saved file.

Anyone run into those issues?

I have a similar problem and the workaround was to use SASD to save my files.

I do not have SASD deployed at all in my setup. Checked permissions etc but the files don't even show up under DOS either. Its slightly annoying trying to explain my various end users that they have to save to a thumbdrive and not on the desktop.

Are you using IE 64bit for the additional video panes?

There is a small note in the workstation specification document highlighting one (of the many) challenges running in EPM mode and it relates to saving local files from the browser:

Saving Clips in Protected Mode Internet Explorer 64 bit

Internet Explorer running in “Protected Mode” is a low integrity process that can only write files to low integrity folders.

The default low integrity folder in the system is $USER$\AppData\LocalLow. To perform file system functions, such as saving snapshot, you can save the file to the default low-integrity folder or create a low integrity folder using the following steps:

Procedure
Step 1 Create a new folder using file explorer.
Step 2 Lower the integrity of that folder using the icacls command:

icacls <path> /setintegritylevel (OI)(CI)low

Step 3 Save the clips to the new folder.

One thing to check if you have not is to see if you are running IE in compatibility mode. Also when you start IE, right click and select run as administrator and see if that helps. Both of these have helped me in some of the quirky things I find in VSM.

Maybe also check to see if the folder is set to "read only"
