Greetings.
Would like to have your advice.
For a retail project, I am currently looking for a solution when it comes to display camera streams.
SASD is good for interactive setups, but does anybody have a good solution when it comes to those displays at the entrance of the shop?
They tipically only show certain cameras and switch between them.
Anybody know a supplier of such a "player"? I remember in the old time, there was a blue box doint this. But I cannot recall the name.
Such boxes do need any attention and run completely automatic.
Thanks and regards
Danny

This sounds like a textbook case for application of
We have had success with some Micro Form Factor PCs like

They are very low power, and can be mounted directly on the back of the display with a VESA bracket!

Hi Scott.
Thanks very much, yes you are right.
In the dark times of 6.x.x, there was an english supplier that had little boxes doing this without any windows os, but then there was no SASD....
I have to look into that indeed.
Cheers

No worries. Glad I could be of assistance. The micro form factor PCs and unattended video walls are surely the best-supported way to go. That's not to say someone, or some company, couldn't develop a custom solution leveraging the VSM API & SDK.
For instance, there are Android and iOS clients out there that can clearly interact with VSM. I think someone should create an Android app the equivalent of an unattended video wall to run on those ubiquitous 'TV sticks' that everyone is pumping out now. Would be far more economical.
I'd love to code one myself, but my company would never give me the time.
