Hi Guys.
Not sure if I was asking the correct question, so I'm going to try and explain again.
We have a Cisco 1841 router with Cisco IOS Software, 1841 Software (C1841-IPBASEK9-M), Version 12.4(25c)
On this router config we have the following (Please not this is just an extract and does not include everything.) Please see below.
multilink bundle-name authenticated
vpdn enable
vpdn-group pppoe
request-dialin
protocol pppoe
interface ATM0/1/0
no ip address
no ip mroute-cache
atm restart timer 300
no atm ilmi-keepalive
dsl operating-mode auto
interface ATM0/1/0.1 point-to-point
pvc 8/35
pppoe-client dial-pool-number 1
pppoe-client dial-pool-number 2
interface Dialer1
description pppoe to SOM on PTAADSL
mtu 1492
ip address negotiated
ip virtual-reassembly
encapsulation ppp
dialer pool 1
dialer-group 1
ppp chap hostname site1@myisp.com
ppp chap password 0 ~!`PaSsWoRd
ppp pap sent-username site1@myisp.com password 0 ~!`PaSsWoRd
interface Dialer2
description pppoe to SOM on PTAADSL
mtu 1492
ip address negotiated
ip virtual-reassembly
encapsulation ppp
dialer pool 2
dialer-group 2
ppp chap hostname site2@mypwv.com
ppp chap password 0 ~!`PaSsWoRd
ppp pap sent-username site2@mypwv.com password 0 ~!`PaSsWoRd
If we reload the router using this Config only dialer1 comes up and the ISP gives it an IP address.
Dialer 2 states up as well but no IP address.
Dialer1 xx.xxx.xx.xxx YES IPCP up up
Dialer2 unassigned YES NVRAM up up
If we remove Dialer1 from the Config Dialer2 receives it’s IP, it seems like only one Dialer at a time.
But according to Cisco this functionality is available on this IOS version https://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_4t/12_4t15/mpppoec.html
Questions: Is this an issue on the router or IOS?
Does the above mentioned IOS support 2 pppoe clients (Dialers)
Am i missing anything in the config
Any help would be appreciated.
