Unable to add 2960X to Stack. Stack Ports Showing Down

Hello, I'm REALLY baffled at why a 2960X is not being added to our stack. I matched the new member's IOS to what the stack had. The sdm prefer settings match. The licenses both show lanbase. Yet, both the stack and and the new member show stack ports as down.

The funny thing is that when I plug the cable between the new member's own two stack ports. They show up but as soon as I connected it to the stack they go down.

The stack has two members. I am trying to add a third.

On start up, the new member shows this... but then the stack ports go down...

Waiting for Stack Master Election...

Any ideas????

The new member never sees anyone and so becomes master.
