Hello everyone I have an issue that I am hoping someone can help me figure out.
I purchased a USED 2960 that refuse to boot that IOS that it came with, the file is extracted and boot process starts normally but when it gets to a point in the process (Waiting for port download........completed) it freezes. No matter how long I let it sit there it remains frozen.
So I figured I'd get a new IOS and try that, I downloaded one from the cisco website and xmodem it to the devices all went well after FOREVER lol and then the my second problem started. When I try to boot from the new IOS it boots to a point then fails then the old IOS automatically starts to boot and fail at the same point as it always does.
I tried deleting the old IOS from flash delete flash: file name that and it says no such file or this file is a directory so I try rmdir flash: file name and that does work.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? why my device won't boot, and why I can't delete the old IOS from flash:? thank you
