Planning Guide for Jabber 14 shows a need for TCP port 8191 but the description is a bit nebulous:
"Connects to local port to provide Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) web services"
Is this still a requirement? And what is the source and destination?
Client to IM&P? And what is meant by "to local port"? Does that mean just locally on the device (127.0.0.1)?
The troubleshooting guide suggests that Jabber does a login to IM&P via SOAP, but on TCP port 8443 ... then a login via XMPP TCP port 5222.
No mention of 8191 for SOAP.
Is 8191 an old "non-secure" port previously used for SOAP? Is it still used locally on the device?
Trying to manage access lists and firewalls, and don't want to open this up if I don't need to.
On a related note, if this is no longer needed, it should be removed from the port usage documents. So confusing to have to aggregate multiple documents: Call Manager, IP Phones, Jabber, Webex, IM&P, UCCX, Finesse, CUIC ... all for the multiple clients needed on a common "soft" workstation.
Could Cisco please put together a comprehensive port usage doc across the Collaboration product?!
