Cisco 2901 License transfer to another router

Guys,

I have a dead 2901-sec/k9 router that I want to transfer to license to another replacement router.

I do not have contracts on any of these routers.  They are in my home lab.

Can I user the license portal to transfer the license to the replacement router?

The are permanent manufacturer installed licenses, since old router is dead and not contract, I should be able to transfer to license over.  The old router is heading towards to recycling company.

Send an email to the License Team.  Include the serial number of the dead unit and the replacement unit.

is the unit replaced by cisco, i am bit confused about this when the License tied (i belive - this can not be transfered to any other device i guess)

but as suggested @leo you  can email to License and try your luck.
