Hi,

I am having trouble with getting my Cisco RV220W router to accept a quickVPN connection.  I have followed the instructions from the manual and have validated that port 443 is open on my router.

When I hit connect the quick VPN client just hangs at Connecting...

The Log file is as follows.

I have looked up the Servers certificate doesn't exist on your local computer.  errro and from what I was reading there should be some pop up that would allow me to get past this, but I do not get any pop up.

The quickVPN is version 1.4.2.1

Hello,

I'm sorry you are having issues with your device.

I have experienced this issue before and I have been able to solve it by importing the certificate into the PC.

The issue is that, there is something on the PC, a program or firewall that is preventing the pop up from showing, and that makes the connection hang as the router is expecting an answer and never receives it.

Before I tell you how to get the certificate, I do want to mention that QUICKVPN is not supported on Windows 8 and above, so, if you are using that type of OS this may not work but you can still try it.

Second, putting the certificate on your PC won't immediately allow to connect but at least it will let you continue the process. If after doing the you still have some issues then we will cross that bridge when we get there.

What you need to do is to go to the Web GUI of the router, then click on Security - SSL Certificate and click on the Export for Client button at the bottom of the page, this will generate a HTTPS.pem file. (Check the attached screenshot)

You will need to copy that file and put it in the installation directory of the QuickVPN software, usually:

c:\Program Files\Cisco Small Business\QuickVPN

Then run the connection again, you should be able to see that it is connecting, then it should say Verifying Network and hopefully it will connect.

I hope this helps.
