Hello,
I am looking at replacing my existing Netgear Wireless router, and I am thinkg of using a RV120W.
My ISP requires PPPoE (uname/pword) and my wife's company requires we have a static IP on our side for VPN connections.
Does the RV120W meet these requirements? In what I have found online, I see that the unit does static IPs and PPPoE, but cant find anything that confirms it will do both at the same time.
Any help would be appreciated before I go out and buy one.
Thank you,

Hi Doug,
Here is a screen capture of a online emulator of the RV120W GUI.
You will note I have captured the PPPoE WAN configuration section. As you can see it gives you the option to statically define or dynamically get a IP address.

Dave,
I just received the RV120W that I ordered, but when I connect to it, this is what I get.
I can do either PPPoE or Static IP addresses, but not both.
Is there a setting that you set to allow both?
Thank you,

The RV120W only supports 1- WAN connection. Our RV016,RV042,and RV082 wired routers supports Dual WAN
connectivity.

Rick,
I am not looking for dual WAN connections. I use ATT ADSL, which uses PPoE and static IPs on the same connection.
My existing Netgear router which is dying, supported this. When I sent in my initial question, David responded with the screen capture showing that both could be selected on the same connection (above).
I have another issue, I downloaded the latest and greatest from the Cisco Website to see if this resolved the issue.
I appeared to go ok, and got a screen that counted down to when it was complete, it sat at 0 seconds over night.
This morning I could not access the router and would not prompt me to login when I http'd to the the LAN interface.
Can these routers be recovered some how, or do I need to send it in to get fixed?
Thank you,

Doug,
Have you tried rebooting the router since you attempted the firmware upgrade? You may need to reset it to factory defaults by holding the reset button for 10 seconds.

I power cycled the router several times, and tried to reset it to factory defaults as well. Neither worked, as the router seems to be dead. It is under warrenty, so I guess it is time to contact TAC.. The main questions, is, does this router support a DSL connection that uses PPPoE and have static IPs?
Thank you,

Doug,
I looked at the emulator that David sent a screenshot of and it appears that the unit does allow PPPoE as well as a static IP address:
http://www.cisco.com/web/sbtg/gui_mockups/RV120W_v10012/home.htm
The emulator shows firmware version 1.0.0.12. I then set up an RV120W in our lab with the latest firmware and it appears that the GUI has changed dramatically. I was unable to find any way to configure the WAN interface for PPPoE and static IP at the same time. From what I can see this is NOT a feature of this router. I also read the WAN setup portion of the Admin Guide and found no mention of setting a static IP with PPPoE.
