Hi, I'm trying to establish a vpn connection using shrew soft to the router cisco rv180w.
I look and read all I could find but the connection drops when opening the tunel.
There was some tuttorial here in the forum but the links are down.
What I want to acomplish is to establish a communication and be able to access my domain on the network.
Any help with the settings would be greatly apeciated. I'm new to vpn.
Thanks in advance.

Federico,
Try to access the following link. It has good instructions for a similar model. The main difference is that the SA500 has Dual-WAN and the RV180W does not.

Here is another tutorial for the RVS4000 that may help:

Check out the last post in the following thread as well, which has instructions for the RV220W (Should be exactly the same as RV180W)

Thanks Marty, that really help me a lot! The tunnel now connects, but I get no traffic. I look in the IPsec and VPN connection status of the router but I get 0 results found.
I also play a bit with the encription settings on the client and the router, but the tunnel always connnects, even if they totally dismatch.
I tried version 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 with the same results. A pc with win xp and win 7 32. Connecting through a router or directly through the modem. In any case I get the same results, connects, but I can't ping nor access the remote network.
What could I be missing?

Federico,
I'm happy to see that you are making progress. Can you ping the LAN IP address of the RV180W when you are connected? Is it different than the LAN IP of the router that you are connecting FROM?

Hi Marty,
From a remote location a can ping the router through a dns name provided by noip since I have a dinamic ip, on both ends. Both subnets are different, one is 192.168.5.1 and the remote one is 192.168.1.1.
If I put a dns of 8.8.8.8 on the client I can surf the web normally but I can´t ping my remote network. If I put my server dns, I can´t do anything.

Federico,
Which document did you follow for the configuration? I used the first link in my post (SA500) to configure my RV220W and it worked perfectly.

Hi Marty,
I could figure it out in the end. I was using the first link guide, but I specified a subnet, just following the guide, when the correct setting was "any" for local and remote, in the vpn policy on the router side. So the client was connecting but to a different subnet or conflicting with it.... Once I changed that, the client connects and now I can ping the other pcs in the remote network with ip and dns name, provided by my server.
I couldn´t have worked it out without your help.
Thank you very much!
