Anyone could please help me in here.
Have a 2 cisco SG500 (layer 3 mode) configured with 3 VLAN connected to an adsl modem (Trendnet) - vlan 1 Data, vlan 2 Voice, vlan 3 Testing. Routing between vlan is ok i can ping any device in any vlan and have internet access through vlan 1 but no internet access from other vlan ie vlan 2 and 3. no ping to adsl if i plugged a device in vlan 2 or 3. My question is do i need a router or a firewall in order to provide internet access through all my vlans or is it possible with the SG500 connected to the adsl????have enable ip routing and default route in my SG500 but still no luck. need internet connection for pcs as well as voip devices.
Thanks

Hi Paul, the switch does not perform NAT function therefore if your modem is only a modem giving public IP addresses then you'd need a router to support the NAT function and support either the vlan or static routes.
If your modem is performing as a router, you would require static route on the modem to point to the SVI of the switch to allow the connecting vlan clients to communicate to the modem in turn which makes the internet work.
